Mice and Rats
When house Mice live in or around structures, they almost always cause some degree of economic damage.
In homes and commercial buildings, they may feed on various stored food items or pet foods. They contaminate food with their urine, droppings and hair. A single mouse eats only about 3 grams of food per day but destroys considerably more food than it consumes because of its habit of nibbling on many foods and discarding partially eaten items.
Rats are destructive to humans and property. They carry over 30 diseases that are dangerous to humans. Rats are nocturnal, making daytime sightings unlikely, unless nests have been disturbed.
Signs to look for:
Droppings that look like peppercorns or small pellets.
Chewed paper and material, packages of food gnawed open.
Excitement of cats or dogs in a certain area of a floor or wall.
Squeaking or “Skittering” sounds within walls and in the attic.
Not only do they devour, destroy or ruin food, clothing furniture, carpeting bedding and other household goods, they gnaw on plumbing pipes and electrical wires causing leaks and creating a fire hazard.

Gophers
 |
Pocket gophers, often called gophers, are burrowing rodents that get their name from the fur-lined, external cheek pouches, or pockets, they use for carrying food and materials. Mounds of fresh soil are the best sign of a gopher’s presence. Typically mounds are crescent or horseshoe shaped when viewed from above. Gophers don’t hibernate and are active year round. Gophers are herbivorous and feed on a wide variety of vegetation but generally prefer herbaceous plants, shrubs, and trees. Gophers use their sense of smell to locate food. McCauley Brothers are experts at gopher control; we use a single feeding bait to liberate your property of the gopher problem in the swiftest manner possible. |
Moles
The mole is a small, insect-eating mammal. Moles live almost entirely underground in a vast network of interconnecting tunnels. They frequently create shallow tunnels just below the surface where they consume worms, insects, and other invertebrates. Mounds and surface runways are the most obvious indicators of the presence of moles. McCauley Brothers employs a two pronged approach to controlling Moles; first an insecticide treatment is applied to control soil insect pests which results in less food for moles, then a worm like anticoagulant bait is placed into the tunnel to exterminate the mole.
